چکیده
Structural Health Monitoring allows an automated performance assessment of buildings and infrastructures, both during their service lives after critical events, such as earthquakes or landslides. The strength this technology is in the diffuse nature sensing outputs that can be achieved for a full-scale structure. Traditional sensors adopted monitoring purposes possess peculiar drawbacks related to placement maintenance issues. Smart construction materials, which are able monitor states strain stress, represent possible solution these issues, increasing durability reliability system through embedding bulk fabrication smart structures. potentialities novel systems based on flexibility. Indeed, due characteristics, they combine mechanical properties. We present study optimization characterization materials doped with different types fillers developing class correlate variations external strains electrical signals. This paper presents results experimental investigation composite samples at small medium scales, made cementitious carbon-based inclusions. Different from previous work by authors, filler first compared cubic sample scale then tailored larger plate specimens. Possible applications strain/stress monitoring, damage detection, load concrete infrastructures.

Many electroactive functional materials have been used in smalland microscale transducers and precision mechatronic control systems for years. It was not until the mid-1980s that scientists started integrating electroactive materials with large-scale structures as in situ sensors and/or actuators, thus introducing the concept of smart materials, smart structures, and structronic systems. This p...
